In response to the previous evaluation of the Community Development Program (CDP) of VIL Mines, Inc., for its active exploration activities located at the Municipality of Tagkawayan, Quezon Province and Municipalities of Sta. Elena and Labo in Camarines Norte,   the company revised the said program and incorporated the recommendations from MGB IV-A as well as from  MGB V Regional Office.  On May 21, 2014, the company organized a CDP final presentation and stakeholders meeting held at Daet, Camarines Norte which led to the invitation and attendance of leader-representatives from the identified nine (9) host communities which the two-(2) year CDP intends to serve.

The communities are represented by the respective Barangay Chairmen along with their council comprising of Barangays Bagong Silang, Casispalan, Sta. Monica and Tabason situated in the Municipality of Tagkawayan, Quezon and Barangay Villa San Isidro, Municipality of Sta. Elena and Barangays Bayabas, Tigbinan, Guisican and Cabatuhan in the Municipality of Labo, Camarines Norte.  Also in attendance were the representatives from MGB Regional Office IV-A led by RD Samuel T. Paragas, Mr. Dondi M. Sarmiento, OIC- MSESDD, Sonny B. Villar, CAO and Ms. Katrin Micchelle Gargoles.  The MGB V Regional Office was led by RD Theodore Rommel E. Pestaño and MSESDD Chief Danny Molina.


The program was hosted by a technical team from VIL Mines. Inc. who utilized the occasion to expound on certain aspects of their exploration work in the area and most importantly were able to present to their stakeholders a two (2)-year CDP which they hope will be responsive to the needs of the community. The MGB Regional Office representatives on the other were on hand to provide clarification and suggestions on certain issues and concerns raised during the open forum that ensued after the presentations.

The program ended on a high note with the enlightenment of the host communities regarding the issues and concerns they raised and agreeing unanimously with the program and activities and respective share to be received in the implementation of the Community Development Program.


The signing of the final 2-year CDP was made in the presence of all nine (9) Barangay leaders, all recipients of ₱281,000.00 each for the duration of the program.
