The Mines and Geosciences Bureau Region (MGB) IV CALABARZON participated in the 66th Annual National Mine Safety and Environment Conference (ANMSEC) on November 19 – 22, 2019. The conference, which was hosted by the Philippine Mine Safety and Environment Association (PMSEA), was held in Baguio City. With the theme “Culture. Care. Change.” it aimed to uphold responsible mining—promoting not only technical feasibility, but also environmental sustainability, social acceptability and financial viability.
Some of the activities that the MGB IV CALABARZON personnel attended on the first three days were the #MineResponsibility Campaign Launch, where the following videos produced by the MGB were shown:

- “Minsan Kitang Minahan” Online Ad
- “Biyaya ng Lupa” Documentary
MGB personnel attended the 7th Community Relations (COMREL) Conference, where nine (9) speakers from mining companies and government agencies presented about their experiences in improving the overall quality of life of their respective communities. The next day, the said personnel then took part in the Minerals Industry Symposium, where various updates and developments in the mining industry were discussed.
On the last day of the entire conference, MGB CALABARZON personnel marched together with those from the central office, other regional offices, companies, academe and the PMSEA in the Minerals Industry Parade. It was then followed by the Mine Safety Field Demonstration and Field Competition.
