The Mines and Geosciences Bureau IV CALABARZON is now ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System certified. The certification applies to all of the bureau’s processes covering Mine Management, Mine Safety, Environment and Social Development, Geosciences, and Finance and Administrative Divisions. The ISO Certification, assessed and registered by National Quality Assurance (NQA), was issued on January 26, 2018. It further states that the registration is subject to the company maintaining a quality management system, to the above standard, which will be monitored by NQA.
ISO 9001:2015 is the international standard that specifies requirements for a Quality Management System (QMS). Organizations use the standard to demonstrate the ability to consistently provide products and services that meet customer and regulatory requirements. ISO 9001:2015 applies to any organization, regardless of size or industry.
The procurement of ISO 9001:2015 was done in compliance with the Executive Order No. 605, which states that all departments and agencies of the Executive branch, including all Government-Owned and/or Controlled Corporations (GOCCs) and Government Financial Institutions (GFIs), to adopt to Quality Management Systems Standards as part of the Government-wide Quality Management Program.
