Committed to the proper implementation of existing mining and environmental laws, rules and regulations, two technical personnel of Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) Regional Office (RO) No. IV-CALABARZON, along with representatives from the Provincial Mining Regulatory Board (PMRB) – Quezon, conducted an inventory of the Local Government Issued – Mining Permits in the Province of Quezon.

The eight-day monitoring, which commenced on September 02, 2021, covered the validation of compliance by the Permit Holders with the terms and conditions of their respective Quarry Permit(s) and/or Industrial Sand and Gravel Permit(s) and the provisions of Republic Act No. 7942, otherwise known as the “Philippine Mining Act of 1995”, and its Revised Implementing Rules and Regulations, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources Administrative Order No. 2010-21, i.e., reportorial obligations and fiscal obligations.

The said monitoring also provided a venue for MGB RO No. IV-CALABARZON and PMRB-Quezon to (a) intensify awareness on mining practices, and (b) address pressing concerns aired by the Permit Holders.

In addition, the exerted efforts aim to ensure that provisions on safety and health, environmental management, and community development are implemented throughout the entirety of mining operations.
