In the interest of service and to highlight the prime concerns of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Secretary regarding the implementation of his Priority Programs, DENR CALABARZON conducted the 3rd Regional Management Conference on July 3 to August 2, 2018 at The Bayleaf Hotel, General Trias City, Cavite.

The conference formally started with the discussion of updates on highlights of the previous Regional Management Conference. It was then followed by Atty. Maria Paz G. Luna, DENR CALABARZON Regional Executive Director (RED), discussing the identification of possibilities, limitations, and gaps for CALABARZON, highlights from the RD’s Meeting at Cagayan De Oro, Laguna Lake development activities, Manila Bay concerns, enforcement of ENR laws and regulations that focus on river systems.

Other highlights discussed include the Updates on the implementation of Priority Programs for Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) IV CALABARZON and Environmental Management Bureau (EMB) CALABARZON, deliberation of the draft Joint DENR-MGB-EMB Special Order re: Creation of an Environment and Mining Unit (EMU) at the implementing PENROs and CENROs, Financial Utilization of the agency, policy updates, and the launching of “Tayo and Kalikasan” Campaign.

The three-day conference was attended by senior officials and personnel from DENR RO IV-A, MGB IV CALABARZON, EMB CALABARZON, and DENR IV-A PENROs and CENROs. It ended with the inauguration of the new PENR Office Building of PENRO Cavite.
