In response to the Temporary Suspension Order on all quarry operations in Region IV CALABARZON, the Technical Personnel of Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) IV CALABARZON conducted quarry inspections on September 29, 2018 in Sariaya Quezon accompanied by members of the Philippine National Police (PNP) 3rd Maneuver Platoon, 1st Quezon Provincial Mobile Force Company and Provincial Mining Regulatory Board (PMRB) – Quezon in Sariaya, Quezon.
During the course of inspection, the Team chanced upon two (2) Elf Trucks with plate number DAH 471 and PHY 319 loaded with estimated three (3) cubic meters of cobble/boulder – sized materials. The team requested for the prescribed transport documents, however none but only a Sales Receipt indicating sand as the commodity was presented. Owners of the trucks were given ample time to present the appropriate documents, however, they were still missing important documents. Due to the absence of PMRB Delivery Receipts and MGB Certificate of Accreditation, the team arrested the individuals for violation of Section 103 of R.A. 7942 while the conveyances and the materials were seized and were temporarily deposited at the Municipal Police Station of Sariaya, Quezon for safe keeping.
With evidences gathered, a case was filed on October 1, 2018 to the Regional Trial Court, Branch 60, Lucena City for violation of Section 103 of RA 7942 against the drivers and the owner of the said trucks.
