Gathering of representatives from different companies, agencies and NGOs all over the country during the 62nd Minerals Industry Symposium in Camp John Hay, Baguio City

The most awaited event of the Mining Industry has come to fold when various Mining Stakeholders gathered at the recently concluded 62nd Annual National Mine Safety and Environment Conference (ANMSEC) held from November 17 to 20, 2015 at CAP-John Hay Trade and Cultural Center, Baguio City.

Personnel from the Mines and Geosciences Bureau Region IV-A (CALABARZON) led by Regional Director Engr. Samuel T. Paragas attended the different activities scheduled during the four (4) day event among which include the 3rd Community Relations Officers (COMREL) Conference along with the start of the Mining Exhibit at the CAP-John Hay Trade and Cultural Center and the Bowling Competition where MGB IV-A garnered 5th place. The day was capped by the Mining Night where colleagues, old and new, took chance to see each other in a memorable event.

On the third day, the Minerals Industry Symposium was held along with the PMSEA Student Congress. With the theme: “62 Years of Responsible Mining: United in Creating Relevant Development for Inclusive Growth,” the event aims to tackle various concerns surrounding the industry. The topics discussed ranges from Mining and Philippine Economy to the Integrated Rehabilitation of Philex Tailings Storage Facility No.3 and Restoration of Disturbed Mining Sites.

The Conference was capped by the Minerals Industry Parade and Field Competitions in First Aid, Fire Extinguishing, Hand Mucking and Machine Drilling held at Melvin Jones Grandstand, Baguio City.
