In the observance of the 2018 International Day for Biological Diversity, the Mines and Geosciences Bureau IV CALABARZON joins DENR CALABARZON’s celebration through a Photography Contest and Exhibit. The activity, entitled “Photo Contest and Exhibit on Biodiversity” was held on May 22, 2018 at SM City Calamba.

The following were the winners and finalists of the Photo Contest:

1st Place – Strength in Numbers by Gerson Kim Penetrante
2nd Place – Survival of the Fittest by Cherry Lou I. Zoleta
3rd Place – Hope and Love by Allan Rey C. Tato

4th Place – Thirsty Skink by Allan C. Doria
5th Place – Beneficial Predator by Raymark S. Benedicto
6th Place – Happy Bee by Maclyndon E. Lao
7th Place – Stages of Life by Joanna Katherine Dela Cruz
8th Place – A Bug’s Life by John Robert R. Cubio
9th Place – Social Hermits by Edbrayan G. Domingo
10th Place – Mountains by K.L. Origenes

All entries were judged by a panel of judges composed of professors from different universities and veteran photographers. Winners of the contest also received Php 10,000 for 1st Place, Php 7,500 for 2nd Place, Php 5,000 for 3rd Place, and Php 1,000 for the finalists.
