The activity was held at the Buenavista Municipal Function Hall on May 28, 2015 in Buenavista, Quezon and was attended by forty three (43) registered participants composed of representatives from PMRB, La Suerte Mines Multi-Purpose Cooperative (LSMMC), Grande Multi-Purpose Cooperative, Brgy. Bulo officials and members of the Sangguniang Bayan of Buenavista.
It was a whole day affair that started with a lecture on the revised Implementing Rules and Regulations of RA 7076 with emphasis on Filipino citizens who have organized themselves as an individual miner or cooperative with a capacity to contract may apply for a small-scale mining contract. This was followed by the discussion on safety and health provisions of DAO 2015-03, wherein under this new IRR, small-scale mining contractor or mineral processor is required to abide by the provisions of DAO 97-30, otherwise known as the “Small-Scale Mine Safety Rules and Regulations. Next, the participants were taught on how to accomplish the Potential Environment Management Plan (PEMP) that is required under the revised IRR of RA 7076.

afternoon session was centered on the discussion of the importance of Community Development and Management Program (CDMP). The lecturer gave examples of community projects and livelihood programs from other mining companies to give the participants an idea on how the CDMP works. This was followed by the First Aid Training which consists of Basic Life Support, Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and bandaging. The participants gain additional knowledge and hands-on training on how to deal with emergencies that could save the lives not just of fellow employees, but of family members as well.
Finally, during the closing remarks the participants were made to remember important information by answering questions relevant to the discussions that took place. The awarding of certificates to all participants by Engr. Emilio R. Ramos, OIC of Mine Management Division followed suit.
