In line with the 2018 Campaign to End Violence Against Women by the Philippine Commission on Women from November 25 to December 12, 2018, the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) IV CALABARZON conducted a Gender Sensitivity Training (GST). With the theme, “Violence Against Women – Free Community Starts with Me,” the GST Training was conducted on December 4, 2018 at the MGB IV CALABARZON Conference Room, where a number of employees of MGB attended.
The training was conducted by Ms. Minda I. Cabilao Valencia, where she highlighted Gender and Development Concepts, Gender Issues and the Role of Social Institutions, and Personal Commitments to Change.
Workshops were also conducted emphasizing the role of Social Institutions in one’s development. Participants were divided into five groups, where they discussed the issues on Gender and Development in the family, community, workplace, media, and religion.
The training was aimed to mainstream gender concerns and to unite all sectors towards reaching a common vision of a violence against women free society.
