The only neophyte candidate in the DENR’s Annual Environment Award for Governance and Leadership Excellence (EAGLE) Award for CY 2021 for the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB), Regional Director Dondi M. Sarmiento, MGB RO No. IV CALABARZON, received recognition as one of the top five (5) MGB Regional Directors for his exemplary contributions to the attainment of the DENR’s mandate and commitment to public service.  RD Sarmiento, who had just become a full-fledged Director II last February of this year, was fortunate enough to be included in the said DENR’s distinguished award for leadership excellence based on the categories which include Integrity, Service Orientation, Network Building, Strategic Focus and Managerial Acumen.  The said Award has proven the exemplary leadership and the relentless efforts RD Sarmiento has demonstrated to fulfill his duties in pursuit of the DENR’s thrust and mandate amidst the challenges of COVID-19 Pandemic though he was barely one (1) year and a month as OIC, Regional Director prior to his presidential appointment as Director II.

The EAGLE Award is conferred to outstanding DENR Officials to recognize and commend exemplary leadership and contributions in pursuing the Department’s goals and objectives.

DENR Undersecretaries Analiza Rebuelta-Teh, Jonas R. Leones, Benito T. De Leon, Juna Miguel Cuna, Joselin Marcus Fragada, Jonas R. Leones, and Ernesto D. Adobo, Jr. presented the Plaque of Recognition to RD Sarmiento on the occasion of the DENR’s 35th Anniversary held on June 7, 2022 in Iloilo City.
