A Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was executed by and between the management of Lafarge Republic Aggregates, Inc. (LRAI) and representatives from the host and neighboring communities in Angono, Rizal relative to the recently renewed five (5)-year Social Development and Management Program which is now on its third phase of implementation covering CY 2015-2019.
The covenant formalized the prior agreement reached by the “Liga ng mga Barangay” through a passed Liga Resolution in relation to their adopted new SDMP fund allocation sharing scheme which LRAI had now concurred. The new fund sharing scheme which is to be implemented until the full five – year duration of the program stated therein that the two host barangay communities shall both receive thirty five (35%) percent of the annual SDMP allocation while the eight neighboring communities would be allocated the remaining thirty (30%) which will be shared equally.
The event was held at the company’s conference room on June 16, 2015 after a formal notice from LRAI which was considered a success as it was well attended not only by the top management of LRAI led by Mr. William De Lumley, VP-Aggregates and the program’s main beneficiaries with only one abstention but was also witnessed by authorized representatives from Office of the Mayor and graced by officials from the MGB IV-A led by Mr. Dondi M. Sarmiento, OIC, Mine Safety Environment and Social Development Division.
The approved new five year SDMP has a gross total annual budget of Php 13,893,629.19 wherein seventy five (75%) percent is allocated to SDMP projects at Php 10,420,221.89 and the remainder of fifteen percent (15%) to a separate program on Information, Education and Communication (IEC) fund at Php 2,084,044.38 and ten percent (10%) on a program for the Development of Mining Technology and Geosciences (DMTG) at Php 1,389,362.92.
