The MGB IV-A Office led by RD Samuel T. Paragas witnessed the signing of Memorandum of Agreement between Egerton Gold Phils. Inc. (EGPI) and the ten (10) host and neighboring Barangays in the Municipality of Lobo, Batangas for the implementation of several projects under the company’s Five (5) Year Social Development and Management Program. The event was held on November 26, 2014 at Punta Malabrigo Lobo, Batangas.

 EGPI, is holder of Mineral Production Sharing Agreements (MPSAs) 176-2002-IV (Lobo) and 177-2002-IVA (Archangel). Recently, EGPI filed a Declaration of Mining Project Feasibility (DMPF) on the said MPSA areas.

The day-long event gathered the entire ten (10) host and neighboring barangays represented by the Chairmen and their Council together with Hon. Mayor of Lobo, Atty. Gaudioso R. Manalo. During the registration, pamphlets on the concept of SDMP in the vernacular or Filipino were given to the participants.

The proposed P4.5 million SDMP budget of the company is projected for ten (10) years upon operation. RD Paragas said that mining, if properly managed, can sustain the needs of the future generation and wished that the community may also be given that opportunity to further succeed in providing better life.  Finally, after clearing up all the issues and concerns raised during the presentations, RD Paragas enjoined the Brgy. Chairmen and EGPI representatives for the signing of a memorandum of agreement covering the approved five(5)-year SDMP of the company as witnessed by the Hon. Mayor and hundreds of participants
